There is nothing more exciting to me than going to fashion events and being in a room filled with artistic creations and minds. Yesterday, I had the Honour of being invited to an intimate art exhibit in Downtown Toronto. My awesomely loving friend was one of the contributors and I really wanted to be in a dimension where other creative minds work in a different way that they come up with such valuable works such as paintings. As I went through the exhibit held in a studio boutique with a bar in it I would say that I was extremely giddy to see social statements and artworks done in any other way. ( Although, I wish I was as good as these artists)
These two paintings were named “Psycho Brain” and “Brain Wave”. Apparently the paintings as suppose to symbolize the activity of the brain.
This piece hands down is one of my favourite from the exhibit the fact that a male body that is hard and overtly masculine cover in lace creates that balance of femininity and masculinity.
And Viola! this piece is one of my favourites not just because it was painted by a friend but because it somewhat embodies the modern woman. Being naked smoking a cigarette might be a contrast but it just shows that women of this day have more power to control themselves and their life.
Over all it was a nice to be surrounded by people who loves and understood art in almost similar ways.
*NOTE: the interpretations of some of the works are just my own interpretation, we all have different perspectives of what is what and I do respect that.
